چکیده

Objective: The aims of the present study were to screen actinobacteria with high potential ability produce secondary metabolites that have inhibitory activity against plant pathogenic fungi, Magnaporthe oryzae. Production was analysis by thin-layer chromatography and bioautography assay.
Methods: Screening selection Streptomyces sp. morphological, cultural, physiological, biochemical characterization screened isolate carried out. Antifungal compound confirmed Results: Bioautography method use in this found be antifungal fraction from crude extract. can readily located on plates observing clear zones where active compounds inhibit fungal growth.
Conclusion: assay shows isolates compound. Therefore, proves a promising microbe which further studied for its applications biocontrol agent rice blast fungi.

The Potential of Streptomyces as Biocontrol Agents against the Rice Blast Fungus, Magnaporthe oryzae (Pyricularia oryzae)

Rice is a staple food source for more than three billion people worldwide. However, rice is vulnerable to diseases, the most destructive among them being rice blast, which is caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae (anamorph Pyricularia oryzae). This fungus attacks rice plants at all stages of development, causing annual losses of approximately 10-30% in various rice producing regions. Syntheti...

Adaptation to pH and Role of PacC in the Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

Fungi are known to adapt to pH partly via specific activation of the Pal signaling pathway and subsequent gene regulation through the transcription factor PacC. The role of PacC in pathogenic fungi has been explored in few species, and each time its partaking in virulence has been found. We studied the impact of pH and the role of PacC in the biology of the rice pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae. Con...

Transcriptional Basis of Drought-Induced Susceptibility to the Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

Plants are often facing several stresses simultaneously. Understanding how they react and the way pathogens adapt to such combinational stresses is poorly documented. Here, we developed an experimental system mimicking field intermittent drought on rice followed by inoculation by the pathogenic fungus Magnaporthe oryzae. This experimental system triggers an enhancement of susceptibility that co...

Fitness Characters in Parasexual Recombinants of the Rice Blast Fungus, Pyricularia oryzae

We examined the fitness characters in parasexual recombinants derived from cocultures of two isolates, NAO-02 (race 133.1) and TH77-1 (race 047.0), of the rice blast fungus, Pyricularia oryzae, in liquid yeast extract medium. The cocultured isolates were transferred to oatmeal agar to produce a conidial inoculum. Then, the conidial suspension was sprayed on the japonica rice cultivar Akiyutaka,...

Mycoviruses related to chrysovirus affect vegetative growth in the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae.

Mycoviruses causing impaired growth and abnormal pigmentation of the host were found in the rice blast fungus, Magnaporthe oryzae. Four dsRNAs, dsRNA 1 (3554 bp), dsRNA 2 (3250 bp), dsRNA 3 (307 bp) and dsRNA 4 (3043 bp), were detected in isolate S-0412-II 1a of M. oryzae. By picking up single conidia of S-0412-II 1a, cured strains of the fungus were isolated that had completely lost the mycovi...
